We didn’t mention Tinder in the speechesįour months ago, we got married on the beach near Edinburgh, surrounded by friends and family. When Jonny got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, it was the most simple and perfect moment. In August last year, we visited my family in the Highlands and walked the dog on the beach. But I wasn’t tied down to a career, so I moved to Manchester. We’d have been inseparable, if only we didn’t live hours apart. My friends were amazed when I explained how I’d met Jonny, with all the jokes to be expected about how it was clearly “meant to be”. Over the next five months, we travelled to see each other as often as we could. When it was time to go home, Jonny waved me offĪt the station. ![]() Not ready to leave so soon, I booked a hotel room in the city centre for a few nights and we spent all our waking hours together. He was four years older than me, lived with his best mate in Manchester and worked in engineering.
